The Script
Opening — reach retention: "Hi, I'm calling because my bill went up and I'm considering my options. Could you transfer me to the retention department?"
Regular reps can't apply the good discounts. Retention can. Always ask for retention — sometimes called "customer solutions."
Once transferred: "I've been a customer for [X years] and my bill just went from $[old] to $[new]. T-Mobile Home Internet in my area is $50/month with no price hikes. I'd rather stay with Spectrum, but not at this price. What can you do to get my bill closer to what new customers pay?"
If they offer nothing: "I understand. Can you tell me what the process is to cancel service, and whether there's a supervisor or anyone else who could review my account first?"
